Change and Why It's Worth the Struggle

Change isn't easy. It doesn't happen overnight.

Change will challenge you more than any obstacle or circumstance you face.

Because change all comes down to one thing.

What are you willing to do?

What are you willing to let go of?

What discipline are you willing to bring to the table?

What are you willing to do that most people won't?

Because it's easy to stay stuck in excuses and perceived limits.

Change will rattle your core and bring you more to life...if you let it.

The picture on the left was taken in March. I'm in New Zealand having the time of my life in a country I adore.

But I'm not happy. I'm miserable. I'm self-conscious. I feel heavy...emotionally. I question myself at every turn and pick apart what I see in the mirror.

I was stuck in that version for years.

The picture on the right was taken a few weeks ago. 20+ pounds off my body. I'm leaner, healthier, happier.

The catalyst was realizing that I've beaten my body up.

With all of the hiking I've done, I was compensating. I was dealing with chronic pain, doubt, fear of aging, and questioning how long I could do adventures that I love.

So I took a stand. I got a team of providers who are rebuilding my knees from the inside out. I made a 100% commitment to my healing journey, nutrition, mindset, visualization, rehab, and exercise.

Because in one moment, I made a change and change for the better.

It hasn't been easy. I'd love to grab a beer, have a cookie, or overpush my body like I have in the past.

But this change, like all change, requires discipline, commitment, and sacrifice to do what excuses stopped me from doing.

Because there are so many adventures I have my eyes laid on and that's what makes the change worth it.

The road to transformation is never easy, but if you embrace that fact, it'll be easier than ever before. The road to transformation is never easy, but if you embrace that fact, it'll be easier than ever before. Click To Tweet
