FORGET EXPECTATIONS FROM OTHERS. JUST DO YOU.
I saw meme that says, “If you don't come out of this quarantine with a new skill, your side hustle started, or more knowledge, you never lacked time. You lacked discipline.”
I'm all for getting people to take action.
But what I'm not a fan of is expectations being placed on people and judging others based on their action or lack of it.
We never know the situation someone else is in.
It could be a Fortune 500 executive that is just trying to manage all of the different fires.
It could be someone who just got laid off and is trying to figure out how to put food on the table.
It could be a high achiever who has spent most of their lifetime burning themselves out.
If you want to go after a new skill or a side hustle or more knowledge, great.
But if you don't, great.
The most important thing you can do right now is JUST DO YOU.
If you feel like maximizing on this time, great.
Or if you just want to rest because you feel like life has been hectic, then you should absolutely do that.
If you're going to lead. lead with compassion. If you're going to encourage, encourage with empathy. If you're going to motivate, don't make it a must.
Just do you.
